2022 has been an exciting year for SUBTV’s music team. Here’s a quick round-up for you all!
NXT GEN
NXT GEN aims to spotlight upcoming artists in the music scene, musicians that we believe will soon be loved and listened to by our student audience. The project involves creating on screen original video content with our chosen artists and blending this material into our music schedule.
Over the years this project has seen the likes of Iann Dior, Eyelar, Joy Crookes, and many more!
As of the 2023 NXT GEN promo, you will be able to see Ayra Starr, Jeshi, Dylan Conrique, and Franky Wah, all encouraging students to request tracks in the SUBTV app. More artists to be revealed through the year – so keep an eye out for that.
SUBTV Spotted
2022 saw the uprise of our new live events project SUBTV Spotted – a series of pop-up events bringing trending artists from our screens, into our venues. So far, we have had performances by Nina Nesbitt, Lucy Spraggan, and Callum Beattie, at our Edge Hill and Salford University sites
The events were described as “extremely intimate” and “refreshing” by students. Best of all they were completely FREE to attend and cost the student venues absolutely nothing!
Our mission is to give back to the students and venues who have supported SUBTV over the years; we hope to expand our SUBTV Spotted series into even more venues in 2023!
